ABOUT US

We’re a small family-run business based in Brisbane, Australia

We are the official importer of Phileos Extra Virgin Olive Oil in Australia.

Phileos extra virgin olive oil is sourced from the finest olive groves in the region of Molaoi, Asopos, and Monemvasia in Laconia. The groves have grown in fertile, organic soils of Greece for thousands of years.

The area is perfect for growing olives with calcareous soils and sea breezes. The olives flourish with a special luxuriance on the limestone slopes and crags that form the shores of the Peloponnese Peninsula.

The secret to an excellent olive oil is simplicity. That means starting with the best olives. Most of the trees are hundreds (even thousands) of years old, which means more flavorful fruit. A taste that stands the test of time. The ancient olive trees require two things to thrive: water and sunshine!

The same olive trees are used to produce our olive oil as their ancestors used. The Koroneiki (75%) and Athinolia (25%) olive varieties are used in order to achieve a perfect balance of sweet and sharp taste. Hints of almond, pepper, artichoke, fig leaf and walnut create a beautiful delicate balance of the two olive varieties.

Phileos is a premium-quality product that has garnered numerous global awards for its health benefits, nutritional attributes, and exceptional taste. These accolades come from some of the world's most prestigious olive oil competitions.

In addition to traditional sensory evaluations, Phileos has earned multiple Gold Awards at the Olympia Awards, a distinctive competition that focuses on measuring the level of polyphenols in olive oil. Polyphenols are a key indicator of the healthy attributes of olive oil, setting the Olympia Awards apart from other competitions.

In 2017, Phileos was recognized as one of the top 5 olive oil producers globally by Spain's World Best EVOO Contest for Healthy EVOO Producers. This competition prioritizes the health benefits of olive oils over their flavour and aroma. It is an invite-only event reserved for olive oil companies with a significant impact on the market, highlighting those that consistently produce large quantities of superior-quality oil.

Notably, Phileos EVOO achieved outstanding results in all three categories judged: Fatty Acid, Oleocanthal Content, and Total Polyphenols. This recognition by leading scientists underscores the exceptional health attributes of our extra virgin olive oil.

These achievements solidify their reputation as a producer of healthy extra virgin olive oil. The commitment to maintaining quality year after year underscores their dedication to excellence. This consistent pursuit of quality is a testament to our unwavering commitment to providing consumers and retailers with exceptional, healthy olive oil.

All standards set by the International Olive Council (IOC), the international governing body for most of the olive oil industry are exceeded, which decrees that extra virgin olive oil must have no more than 0.8% acidity and a peroxide value of no more than 20 meq O2/kg.
